The Evanston 4th of July Celebration is organized by the Evanston Fourth of July Association — a private, volunteer group. The Association is not part of the City of Evanston and receives no monetary support from the City.

All aspects of the Celebration are funded by voluntary contributions from individuals and businesses.

The Evanston Fourth of July Association provides a full and comprehensive day of city-wide activities beginning with the morning sports and playground games, continuing the afternoon parade, and ending with the evening concert at Dawes Park and our award-winning musical fireworks extravaganza.

Some of the costs for the day include:

• Marching bands and supplies for the parade
• Supplies and awards for our sports and games
• Professional computer-fired synchronized musical fireworks show, fireworks alone cost over $1,000 per minute
