Tracy Alden

President

TRUSTEE SINCE 2007

I grew up in Evanston and experienced the all the games, parade and fireworks on the 4th of July. I was a member of the Fabulous All-American Marching Drum & Bugle Corpse in the 70s & 80s. My wife and I have 3 children. I took my children to the morning games when they were young and they still attend the parade and fireworks each year.

I retired from the municipal parks & recreation field in April 2019 after 43 years. I currently work part-time at Food 4 Less. I’m involved in volunteer activities such as July 4 Association, Harvest Food Pantry and church activities. I also enjoy playing the guitar, reading and exercise.

I became part of the Celebration Team in 1995 when asked to help Al Jackson get pies for the morning playground activities. I’d been a spectator and participant for years so I was familiar with the group. I’ve continued my involvement and was asked to become a Trustee in 2007.

I enjoy seeing people celebrate good things such as our nation’s Independence Day. The individuals involved are fun, caring and dedicated. It’s a challenge each year to put together the best celebration we can, and I still enjoy a good challenge.

If you like being a part of something good, then that’s what we do. If you want to meet new friends, learn about Evanston and July 4, and serve your community, then that will also happen.
